Are We All One?

Perhaps you have heard the phrase, “We are all one.” I am hearing this phrase more and more lately. Many say that it is the message for 2008. In our spiritual journey many say this is the message the divine wants us to grasp this year.

I have often pondered this phrase. What in the world can it really mean? I wonder if you think about the same thing? Does it mean that we all have the same thoughts? Surely if we are all one then we must think the same. No, we definitely don’t think the same!

Somehow we are the same. What is it that makes us all one? We all look similar but I think the meaning of we are all one may also encompass animals and plants, (the earth). So really we don’t look the same or similar.

Our feelings, well they are similar but often at different times.

Let’s introduce love into this. Suddenly I start to understand. Perhaps we are all one and it shows up in our feelings and love for others. This must be part of it and it makes me quite sad. I try not to stay there for more than 17 seconds because I don’t want to create anything negative but it does make me sad. I say this because for more years than I can really understand many human beings have treated other human beings and animals and the earth as if we were separate from one another in feelings and love.

In reality if we are all one and it is most obvious in our feelings and love then what is all the fighting for?

If we are all one in our feelings and love then if you think of your supposed enemy, that person has the same feelings and love as you. That person shares the same love for their children and feels the same feelings of happiness and joy and loss and confusion as everyone else. If you think of an animal they have feelings and love too. They can’t express it exactly the same as humans but they have exactly the same feelings and love.

Our thought processes are different of course. This is on purpose to help us create. The feelings are the same. We are one because we feel the same feelings.

Surely with this knowledge we can progress toward peace.

A while back I watched the movie called The Moses Code. You can find it at http://www.themosescode.com/. If this subject interests you then the movie would be a good one to view. I believe you can see it on line for about $6.00.

I especially liked the movie because some of my friends are in it. I will share with you more about them at another time.

With Love,

MaryEllen: About 2 yrs ago a teller at the bank, who was Indian, was very grateful when I said her name. "Thank you for using my name," she said.

That made me think and ever since I try to notice the person's name who is waiting on me in whatever capacity and say thank you and use their name. Lately if there is no badge, I ask their name and then say thank you and repeat their name.

What I was very conscious of right away was that I felt as though I were being connected to a larger idea than just myself. It still feels like that every time I practice gratitude by naming a name.

My web site is about oneness also, although I am about writing wedding vows in shared conversation and creating a 'one page miracle' that then becomes a law of attraction. www.weddingvowsandceremonies.com
Also look at my blog. I talk one way or another about the Law of Attraction!

Thanks for all the good work Maryellen. Rev. Linda Bardes, The Wedding Vow Coach
